I'm Moving.

I know.  I keep moving my blog.  I'm a dork like that.  But I'm doing it again, hopefully for the last time.  My new location is Oldfangled.wordpress.com for everything except my Cooking Through the United States experiment, which can be found at CookingThroughtheUS.wordpress.com.

Don't hate me.  Just bookmark my new locations and we can continue our happy relationship.  Okay?

Resources for Infertility

Chances are, you know someone who is dealing or has dealt with infertility.  (If you know me and Chef, then you definitely know someone.)

Hannah's Prayer is a Christian ministry for the infertile woman.  There are private forums where you can discuss faith, treatments, options, adoption, grief, and all the physical, emotional, and spiritual parts of infertility.  Held is the Hannah's Prayer blog where devotionals are occasionally posted.

Life as Two is a blog written by Thelma, who, with her husband, experienced years of infertility before they realized their calling as a family of two.  She doesn't write just about infertility, but she does address it.  She also has fun photo contests.

Hope for the Barren Heart is a devotional book I wrote.  This book is intended to help you work through your emotions and grief, provide Scriptures on which to meditate, and offer a starting place of how to pray when you just don't know what to say.

If you have questions about any of these resources, please let me know in the comments!

Bunions Bunions Bunions (How's that for SEO?)

In case you didn't know, I had surgery on both of my feet last year to remove bunions.  I'm so glad I did it.  I started writing about it on my old blog (bunion entries are at this link) and continued the story when I switched to this blog (bunion entries can be found here.)  I liked my doctor, and I really like my improved feet.  If you have a few hours, take a look at all the entries (complete with photos!) and relive the adventure!

A blog that helps you live your dream

I actually got to read Jon Acuff's book Quitter before it was published.  I got to give my input.  In fact, if you buy the book, you'll find my name listed in the back as someone who contributed thoughts and suggestions.

I didn't get paid for that (though I did get a free book out of it).  Still, I'm not making any money by telling you that Jon's blog JonAcuff.com is pretty darn good, too.  He writes about taking hold of your dreams and making them happen.  Mostly this applies to the workplace (and finding / creating a job you love as well as not allowing your job to overshadow your relationships and family).  He's encouraging and often funny, and I read his stuff regularly.

A Blog About Frugality

Fake-It Frugal focuses on ways to save money by making things yourself.  Ikea knock-offs, detergents, Christmas topiaries, restuarant recipes -- it's all here!
